My name is Alex, and you probably already know this from the name of my website, but hey, practice makes perfect!
Now, when the important stuff is out of the way we can all relax and I can tell you a little about myself. I've been doing event photography for more than 10 years now. It started as a hobby when I've started experimenting with film photography and collecting old vintage cameras. That helped me get into the theory - understand how light, aperture, speed works. Naturally came realization, that I can turn my hobby into a profession, and so I did. For the next three years, I've worked as a content editor for one of the Moscow's largest museums. During my time there, I've shot, edited and published a lot of content including exhibition openings, VIP visits, backstage exhibit installations, galas and much more. I was published in several museum catalogs and was honored to meet my personal hero and the ultimate authority in photography (in my humble opinion) - Annie Leibovitz, during her tremendously successful exhibition in 2012.
When I moved to sunny San Diego permanently, I've decided to continue my passion and pursue event photography, but this time as a freelance photographer. It gave me more freedom, more choice, more everything, well you get the idea. I've been blessed to work for such great companies as Startup San Diego, which hosts its annual tech conferences like Startup Week, Convergence, and March Mingle. I've traveled south of the border to capture Tijuana Startup Crawl and see first hand how bi-national San Diego and TJ have really become. And I've worked with Environment California, LA-based non-profit to spread the message of renewable energy through photos.
So, if you ever in need of a fast, reliable and quality-oriented event photographer, please drop me a line just to say "Hi", and we can go from there and capture your awesome party, conference, keynote speech or any other type of event that you are planning. Thank you for your time, and I hope to hear from you soon.
